LC2 Armchair by Le Corbusier 1928
The armchair LC2 as well as the sofa belong to the avant-garde furniture of the Bauhaus age that Le Corbusier designed with the designer Charlotte Perriand and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret for the 1927 Paris Salon. The other LC series furniture also emphasizes the play with different materials and underlines the aesthetic connection with monumentality and lightness.
His design stands for education and success. You will find the cube-shaped classics of the LC2 series in renowned law firms and companies. They also appear very often in various television programs.
The LC2 armchair consists of four box-shaped cushions held in shape by a tubular steel frame. The sides are square, seat and backrest are rectangular, so that a cube results. The frame of this classic consists of an elaborately curved, chromed tubular steel frame.
The leather cushions are filled with polyurethane foam and dacron wadding. The seat of the LC2 was additionally filled with down feathers for optimal comfort. Cover in high quality leather, or linen to your choice.
The LC2 armchair, like the other pieces in the LC collection, is produced by traditional Italian furniture manufacturer based on the authentic designs of Le Corbusier.
