(born June 24, 1888 in Utrecht, † June 25, 1964) was a Dutch architect and designer. With the artist group De Stijl, he became one of the master carpenters of the master carpenter. The development of his red-blue chair, which is characterized by strict geometry and the reduction of the color on the primary colors, introduced genus-breaking aesthetics.Gerrit Rietveld has created milestones: The Red-Blue Chair 1917, Rietveld Schröder House, icon of modern architecture and UNESCO World Heritage Site.
